lol. It is a very silly night at the Anealan Embassy. It started with finishing the 1/2 bottle of champers in the fridge to make way for more shopping, and has devolved to shots of baileys and/or vodka and/or butterscotch schnapps with dinner.

Currently the Squish & shelley monster are off replenishing stocks to finish off the evening. I was still eating dinner - it's a long process!! Or maybe all my talking makes it longer. Funnily enough its quite reminiscent of my childhood - many a long hour was spent at the dinner table eating everything in sight after everyone else had finished. Never made me fat though. Until now!

I made a lovely dinner though (well, i think so!), with my nice new Scanpan - its a saute pan - like a big fry pan, with high sides, and a lid - to make nice steaks and sauces in. I made a spicy mushroom sauce tonight for the steak. And used my new terracotta potato cooker - its an unglazed terracotta lidded pot thing that is used in the microwave. Worked quite well actually.

ps.. if you can't tell, i'm a little sozzled right now. lol.

not nearly half as bad apparently as on Saturday night. oops. I am still blaming the enormous glasses at D & K's. Each glass is nearly half a bottle of wine! Before you know it you've consumed like 2 bottles of wine. Which is more than enough to send me over the edge - apparently i did some very silly things on Sat night- not as bad as D though - falling asleep on the toilet - that is classic!!

As for the rest of the week - the tiddly winks were here for the last week and a half or so. They are very nice and cute. Rather violent towards each other - but you get that. : ) I feel silly calling them kids, but when you realise that you are actually 10 yrs older than someone and they are legally adult now, you start feeling a little bit old. Besides the fact that I am used to being one of the 'younger ones'. Although the scary bit is that my boyfriend/fiance is much closer to their age than he is to mine. oh well.

But it was nice to have them around - besides the buckets of stuff going on which is not good for my health - they are very nice. I at least got to have some proper conversation with, rather than the things in passing up till now.

Slight issue was had with trying to post this yesterday cos Mr Ray logged in elsewhere on my computer and it went to his blog. Go figure. It said it was going to mine.... oh well... it seems to have saved most of these as a draft for me now.

So eventually it worked.

Not that they were important - Its just that I spent most of a morning doing all these stupid quizzes! :0 I know. so slack. But the afternoon/evening was busy busy.

We had an impromptu birthday party for Albury - his 30th! Since he had not really planned anything at all, we thought we should do something. Ray was the instigator. Very nice of him to think of it. It's funny - was thinking of something I read the other day - 'friends are the new family these days'. I think especially so since we none of us live any where near our family's at the moment. And I think even if some of us did, we may not want to have anything to do with them anyway.

Party was very silly - the house looked like "an explosion in a gay factory" to quote Mr Ray. Purple streamers everywhere, and balloons. We had party hats and noise makers as well. All very silly. But I think he appreciated it. We spent the evening playing Star Wars monopoly.

Am very exhausted now though. Was exhausted to start with, but ate all the naughty foods last night so paying for it today - not even a skerrick of energy to start me off in the morning.

oh well.

Shelleys Birthday today (ok, so it technically is Albury's as well). Dragged myself out of bed, Squish & I wrapped pressies, and put them on the 'present table'. (wrapped in purple streamers from last night).

Hope Shell liked pressies. Then I made breakfast for us. There will be a bit more later tonight. We are all going to dinner tonight for he b'day at Woodstock in city. Wanted to make the day feel a bit special at least. Its not every year you have a 30th birthday. lol.

Eeeep. My fingers are numb as i'm writing this. Just hung my washing out outside. Darn the bastard clothes dryer. It died a while ago, and currently too poor to buy a new one. Therefore must hang clothes out like normal people. Its all too much effort! lol. And unfortunately its bloody freezing now, so my wet clothes have become arctic. Trying to hang them out feels kind of like sticking your hands into a bucket of ice for a while!

Turned out to be a really nice weekend. Friday night (as you would have seen if you looked at le-dauncers - dinner with the usual suspects. Was rather a lot of fun. Nice restaurant not been to before, several bottles of wine, some amusing conversation. : )

Saturday the others went for big walk up local mountain. I piked as had bad night. Went for brekky after though. Then rearranged bedroom - had to take out the ultra-ultra-squeaky bed arrangement and switch it for a mattress base. Can now shag on bed, and not on floor! ; )Sat night went and watched Eurovision at Mr C's. My golly gosh. Some of it is so horrific - case in point - 'vampires are real'.

I never cease to be amazed by how much bad taste the Europeans have. Some of the best entries didnt even make it to the finals!!

Sunday we lazed about in morning. Mr Ray came over, and we went to play pitch 'n' putt golf. Damn Wiii. Makes it all seem so easy! We were quite useless. But much hilarity was had. : )

Now chilling on the couch, will start making roast dinner in a while. mmmm...

Fingers are almost warm now. : )

This rental house hunting thing in Canberra is horrific.

Apparently because you are renting you also want to live in a hole! Not to mention the fact (okay, so I am mentioning it) that half the time, you turn up at a house at this ridiculous time for employed people to actually view a house, and the agent just doesn't show. Grrrrr.

I do have better things to do with my time than sit in a car waiting for someone to turn up and show me the possible place of filth that I may live in, if i'm lucky. If I want to pay a million dollars for said place of filth.

In fact, I could be sitting on my couch posting to this stupid thing instead. Cos I am a busy woman dammit!!! ;)

The other really grrrrr thing about the agents is that they all say that the viewing times will be posted on all homes. And since I am practically living on that stupid site, I can tell you, most of the viewing times never get posted. In fact, half the places get rented out about 2 minutes after they get posted on allhomes. And the agents in Canberra are the most slack arse agents in the country. Most of them refuse to do home opens at reasonable times, like say, early evening. And they don't work sundays either. My god. They have it way too easy.

It's so frustrating being treated like a 2nd class citizen. I own a house dammit. In fact it rents out so expensive, I couldnt afford to live there.

Seriously considering just buying another house just so have somewhere to live. It might be quicker too!

Anyway, I will stop ranting now.
